Language Arts  
- Topic sentences and thesis - Choose a dangerous animal that would make a good pet.  Create the essay's thesis and three body paragraph's topic sentences.  Use your notes for reference.  There *may* be a quiz on Thursday (cough, cough) in which you will need these sentences.

Social Studies
- Hinduism mandala - due Thursday.  Tomorrow will be the last day to work on it.

Math
Recommended homework for tonight from the Number System Unit 2 Checklist:
- Take notes on Lesson 4-5 either based on the online video tutorials on the Holt website or based on the examples in the book (no homework assignment necessary)

- complete "Port Royal: A Sunken City" packet if you did not finish it in class 

- continue working on Challenge of the Month: Measuring Up --- we will have our second workshop this TOMORROW --- this is your last workshop before presentations, so come with a substantial amount of work done so the workshop time is useful to you. Presentations will take place on Friday, 2/7.

Science
No Homework

Exploratory
- French feast - permission slip signed by parent by tomorrow!!!  Feast will be on Friday.  Please bring your food cut up, hot, and prepared to eat.  Please bring on a disposable container (one that can be thrown away).  
- French post card - due tomorrow at the end of the period.  If you don't think you will finish, you may want to complete some of it at home.
